ppi lloyds tsb [self employed]
Hi,
Does anybody know what the definition of self employed means on
Lloyds tsb policy documents. [sole trader].
I have tried to claim on a credit card policy, only to be told that i
need to contact hm customs to cease trading, to make claim.
I do NOT wish to cease trading as i could start back to work soon,
if exclusions had been explained in first place, i would not have taken
this policy out.
CAN ANYBODY HELP ?Thanx

Well its old but I see nobody replied.
They wont pay out so reclaim the wholePPI as its mis sold.
Cancel the policy.
They should cancel no questions asked and re do the loan I believe on the same terms as the original although I may be wrong.
You will have to go through the correct procedure ie write a letter explaining your complaint then they have 8 weeks to send you a final response which will hopefully be a refund or if they refuse you can go to thefos .
You are being clearly prejudiced against because you are self employed as compared to an employed person.
They say they will cover you if you are self employed however I bet when they sold it you they didnt say you would be expected to give up your business just to claim.
Effectively you are paying the whole premium when it would never pay out on unemployment unless you gave up work.
Search this site and the net for templates and guides.
PPI is 1 of the biggest scams out there, there are so many exclusions that most people are probably excluded for 1 reason or another.
