Last Monday sent Egg a complaint regarding PPI on an old Egg loan, citing high pressure tele advisors & my employment status. Expected the usual fight.
Letter pops throught the door this morning AGREEING that I should not have been sold the PPI and a cheque for £1,850 will be sent out within 10 - 14 days.
Shocked and stunned (Barclayloan victory last week and now EGG - I'm on on roll, whose next )

I have no legal training and the advice I offer is a matter of support. Before you commit to any Legal action you are advised to contact a qualified legal practitioner. ------------------------------------------------
Bank charge successes:
Halifax - Full settlement incl interest.
HSBC - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 75% of claim.
RBS - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 70% of claim.
2 ongoing claims for bank charges with HSBC with more to come. (Supreme Court ruling could have upset these claims) They did
PPI Successes
PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.
2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.
2 claims settled in full with HSBC without FOS involvement
PPI Claims ongoing with:
Cap one Now with the FOS
Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc
Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.
Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
Egg must have had their knuckles rapped because there seem to be a lot less rejections recently. I have 2 with the fos (been there for 1 yr now), they made an offer on the one to the fos but not the other. As the second loan was a refinancing the fos apparently want Egg to make an offer on both so it has been referred to another Adjudicator.
Barclaycard a/c1 - admit mis selling wont refund full amount, also upheld by fos (Looks like court)
Barclaycard a/c2 - admit mis selling wont refund full amount, currently with fos.
Egg Card - Refused claim but fos found in my favour awaiting refund
Egg Card 2 - eight weeks without acknowledgement, now with FOS.
And of course the infamous GE/Debenhams, currently on the back burner, but I aint giving in on this one (claim in the region of about £10k).
I'm just about to hit Egg also as they gave me PPI on a loan and i am self-employed.
Can you tell me what address you sent your claim to and did you charge the interest rate on the loan + 8% statuory interest?
Cheers

Thanks,
It was sent to Customer Relations Manager, Riverside Park, Derby.
I didnt quote figures, just stated that ppi was added to the loan & that the tele advisor put pressure on me to have ppi to get approval for the loan knowing full well that I was self employed (I believe Egg were fined heavily for high pressure ppi sales over the phone).
Refund offered is more or less what i expected so have accepted it (need the money).
Are you going to pursue the 8% statutory interest from Egg?
If I'm entitled to it then yes
They said its not their policy to do so, but a mis sold PPI on my Egg credit card they refunded 8% statutory - although only Simple 8% on the total, this one's going to court as they are trying to pull the 6 years limitation stunt.
you are only entitled to stat interest if you issue proceedings not before, so you could look unreasonable if you pursue litigation just for the interest
