Complaint to the IPC/NHS issues.
Hi,
I have just joined and this site looks great, although I'm not sure really where to start.
I want to make a complaint to the Independent Police Complaints Commission regarding an incident involving the NHS and the police.
I am not sure which forum to post on (I did search for anything specific to police complaints and didn't see anything) and I'm also not sure how much detail I am allowed to post on a public board.
Also, I'm not sure if I need legal advice before proceeding with a police complaint and I am not able to afford a solicitor (I thought it might be helpful to consult one or some kind of legal aid to see if I have a leg to stand on, as it were).
Not sure if there's any way to talk with anyone privately on here..
I would be grateful for any advice.
Thank you,
Laura

Re: Hi, I'm new.. and have a problem. Don't know where to post?
Hi, thanks for that info. I've read through it and the rules are easy enough to stick to, but I don't think the NHS forum is where I need to post as my complaint is actually aimed at the police although the NHS were involved.
Is there any way I can talk to someone privately regarding this matter?
If not, I appreciate that and will post here if that's ok..
Thank you again,
Laura

it depends on what you want, if you are alleging inappropriate conduct by police then just walk into a police station and tell themyou want to contact IPCC and ask themfor address or if it involves compensation speak to your local advice centre - most solicitors will give you half an hour free consultation in which you can set out the details and they can advise whether it is worthwhile continuing i.e. is your case strong enough. might take it on as 'no win-no fee' . Once you have done that then perhaps you vcan come back with a bit more detail to chew on, good luck

Maybe legal issues is the best place.I will change your thread title and move it there.
It would help if you could give a little more specific info about the issues that you have-of course you can leave out any names.
All advice and guidance offered is done so without liability, and is personal experience and views only.If in doubt seek professional help from a legally trained professional.

Re: Complaint to the IPC/NHS issues.
Hi Sapphire,
The simplest way to get some advice is to post the deetails here after removing anything that can identify you and then we will all try to assist where we can.
Should we not be able to help we will try to point you in the correct direction.
I hope that this helps
