RBS ... c/o DSAR Request problem/delay?
RBS ... c/o DSAR Request problem/delay?
Hi, I have put in a c/o DSAR request (with standard Letters of Authority to accompany the letter) on 2 accounts and received a response from an Edinburgh address (Customer Response Services Unit)
They say ...
"We have received 2 requests from you seeking transaction lists under the Data Protection Acts (199
on the above mentioned customer.
As you have no signing authority on this account er cannot complete your requests, however if the account holder writes to us regarding the charges on their account we shall look at it on their behalf. Alternatively you can contact your local branch who will advise you what steps are required for you to be a signatory on the account.
Once the changes have been made to the account please send a letter to us at the address in this letter where we will deal with the claim accordingly."
So are these delay tactics? I have sent out exactly the same requests to other banks without this type of response??
Please help & advise ... Thanks

It might be that if the two letters were detached that it wasn't not picked up. I think you may need to put the authority for you to act something on the bottom stating, "please see additional page" or words to that effect.

Re: RBS ... c/o DSAR Request problem/delay?
I stapled the whole story together (i.e. DSAR request & LOA), but i will include the wordage ...
RBS have sent back the 2 cheques but not my original letters. However on their letter they have quoted ref numbers, so one thinks why the a delay? They have everything they need!

Re: RBS ... c/o DSAR Request problem/delay?
I have been trying to get my
SAR and 2 CCA's from
RBS for 3 years. I have paid 4 times. I think they don't want to send me the CCA's because then I will be able to claim for two instances of mis-sold
PPI 's (£5,500 worth) I also think they don't want me to see what has been going on with my account at Telford. There seem to be a number of account numbers they are using to refer to my account. I do have copies of my original loan agreements though which clearly show the amounts of PPI. I was sold the second one, without my realising it, while the first one was still current and being paid for. There seem to be a few people on this site to whom rbs will not send the information they have requested. I wonder why?
