me V barclay card (and won :-) )
Surprising win here, was a bit disappointed I didn't get to take them to court...
- Prelim sent asking for £200 in charges and £75.01 in
interest charged in relation to the charges (send in June 07)
- Letter received 1 week later saying "blah blah blah we are correct to charge etc but going to give you difference between £20 and £12 = £80
lba sent in September (
holidays and work put a hold on things) asking for the remaining £195.01
- Letter arrived today saying "having checked our records, I can confirm that you have been charged fees totalling £275.01 since August 2001. In August 2007 we refunded £80 of these charges.
Summary of our internal investigation:
in the circumstances, as a gesture of goodwill, I have credited your barclaycard account with a further £195.01 representing the remaining charges. However, we believe that our charges are fair and reasonable and as such we are not preparted to refund any interest charges incurred." then it contains info of what to do if i am not satisfied with the outcome and their compalints policy etc

I am thinking they made a mistake and thought I was claiming CCI (which I wasn't) or maybe its a new policy to save them court costs and 8% interest (which would have paid off the balance in full!!!!)
(If this is a new format of letter im happy to share the letter contents with any mod of the site etc but not with joe public!)

Hi Mr Elmo,
Congratulations on your result.
BC are settling more quickly now to avoid court costs and 8% s.69interest . Also, as you say, to avois the chance of CI.
Good to see them making life a little easier for reclaimers but they're doing it for their own good.
You'll have that balance clear in no time - well done!
