Hi all been lurking here for a while and finally have a question.
A few months ago I recieved a letter from a finance company I have an HPI agreement with and had missed a payment by a week. I promptly payed on reciept of the letter from them. The same happenened the following month but in the 2nd letter they stated that they had now cancelled my
direct debit
.
As I was happy to ring up on payday each month and pay by phone I cancelled the direct debit on the cahoot website.
This morning I noticed a returned item charge on my account and after investigating further, it seems while I was over my agreed
overdraft
limit cahoot has payed the DD and then recalled it at the end of November and the same at the end of October, charging me £25 a time for the privelege.
As I had cancelled the DD myself surely they shouldn't be charging me for this and then charging 20% interest for the £25 pounds they have wrongly charged me
As I'm already in the process of claiming back the last
6 years
worth of charges (just waiting for the full list of charges back at the moment) and I'm not sure if I should ring cahoot and ask for these back now or wait a little longer.
If anyone has any idea on this I'd be very gratefull.
