It is contrary to the
Banking Code
to take such punitative measures during what is in effect a dispute. There should be more information about this on the site as well.
However, I think there have been people where
after the conclusion of court case Cahoot have asked to close the account (here's one:

Either way, Cahoot's
terms and conditions
state that they should give you 30 days notice before ending an agreement and closing the account:

There are plenty of recommendations for free
parachute
accounts, which you might still be able to open.
