| I can scarcely believe that this is true. What is more efficient in terms of access, space, a hard disk or microfiche?
And if it is true, what evidence is there that a microfiche is not a relevant filing system.
Complain to the Information Commissioner - although by all accounts he is a bank poodle. But complain anyway.

| I don't doubt it at all, but a bald statement like that won't persuade the bank if they don't want to supply the information. Is it possible to get some authority for this view.
Doesn't Barlcays have internet banking? On some internet banking, statements ar available as far back as 4 years or more - i.e. on disk.

| Barclays &Data Protection Act I don't know about Barclays but Lloyds TSB internet banking statements go back to 1 Jul 2002 - when their internet banking started. I assume Barclays system will be similar.
As regards the Data Protection Act I'll try further on that later in the week |

| | Basic Account Customer | Barclaycards online statements only go back six months. I think I might complain to the Financial Ombudsman. It might not do any good but at least it will cost Barclays a few quid. |

| | Administrator The Consumer Action Group | I sent a letter to Barclaycard asking for this info (or a refund, naturally) - and so far (2 weeks) it has been ignored - in 6 weeks I will go to the ombudsman.
I am in no rush for the money - but I want to see CC companies and banks abide by the law.

I contributed what seemed to be an on-topic post, my intention being to hopefully supply bobbmar with an answer to his question "Anybody, got any ideas how to get round this one?"
But if you prefer, i'll stop looking for similar information on threads before I post, and just fill up the forum with duplicate info. That'll be useful then. |
