Weren't me. The people to thank are Bankfodder and Dave. This site was their idea and it's doing quite well for something that was launched only 10 weeks ago.

Just thought I would update you and advise that Barclaycard cashed the £10 cheque today, hopefully statements will follow shortly?

Oh good.

Do you check your B/cards online at all? If yes, could you check if your £10 might have gone on your card?

I'm asking because I have just found £5 and £5 credited to my cards, which has to be my Data Protection Act £10, and I don't understand what's going on...

So if you can check and post back, that'd be great. If you don't, no a worry, I'm sure it will come out in the wash sooner or later...

Unfortunately I do not have internet access for my BC, but I will keep a lookout for the £10 in the snail mail.

If they have accepted the £10 as a payment, it just shows what Muppets they are as they can only process payments and not correspondents.

Will keep you posted.

Hi, I just got a letter from Barclays yesterday. Basiclly the content of the letter states that they can't pay any money back to me as they believed that the monies (charges) are justified accourding to their terms and condition... the 14 days given to them will be up by the 9th April - so what next?

Dear All,

Received my monthly statement today, the Muppets have only gone and accepted my £10 Data Protection Act fee as a payment to my account.

Do I now call them and request my 6 years of statements or leave the clock ticking.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Dear All

I have just looked at my recently received statements and spotted they start from May 04, the letter that I received with the statements states

Statements that are prior to this date are not held on a computer system or a structured relevant filing system and therefore, they do not fall under the data protection act 1998.
They can be obtained from our customer services dept at a cost of £3 per statement.

Could someone advise if the above is correct please?

The courts have also transferred the claim to my local court.

Dear all,

Received today from the Courts the following

Upon neither party attending

IT IS ORDERED THAT

The claimant shall within 14 days of service of this order file a serve on the Defendant a statement clarifying his Particulars of Claim setting out how the sum claimed is made up with full details of dates and amounts of individual items said to have been made by way of charges by the defendant to the claimant and in default the claim shall be struck out
