Default Morgan stanley/ Barclays

I had a number of cards one of them being Morgan Stanley, I opened this account in 2002 got into financial difficulty and went into arrears.
Around 2006/2007 the account was passed to Moorcroft and I came to an agreement to pay £90 per month ( the balance was around £4500), I made payments until october 07 then made no further payments until feb 08 after this last payment I received a letter from moorcroft stating they were no longer dealing with my account.

I have not received any phone callsautolinker.com autolinking image as I have changed my phone number and have not received any statements from Morgan stanley/goldfish/barclaycard since before november 06. I did receive a statement from Moorcroft in November 07.

I did receive a letter from barclaycard notifying me that they had taken over Goldfish and I would start to receive statements from barclaycard with effect from 22nd september 08 but I have never received any statements.

In sept 08 I received a default notice from Mercers stating my balance (approx 5200) and amount due approx 1200 which I had to pay by early oct, I ignored this and have not heard anything from them since.

I am not sure what to do now, I was intending to make payments to the account whenever possible but after finding this site I am wondering if i should take other action I have had late payment and overlimit charges added to the account which could be considerable.

Hi Grp and welcome to CAG.

Read other threads here in the BC forum and you'll find loads of them addressing similar issues to yours - ie reclaiming charges and seeing if the a/c is enforceable.

First off, if you don't have all statements for the a/c for the last 6 yearsautolinker.com autolinking image, send off £10 with this - http://www.consumerforums.com/resour...access-request-

Also, send this as a separate letter with £1 - http://www.consumerforums.com/resour...request-letter

Both can go off in the same envelope to BC's Northampton address by Recorded Delivery. print your nameautolinker.com autolinking image on the letters, or sign as usual with a bold line through the signature so they can't "lift" your sig're.
